From Up On Poppy Hill was the top-grossing Japanese film of 2011, earning over $56 million at the Japanese box office and winning the Japan Academy Prize for Animation in 2012. The film was directed by Goro Miyazaki from a screenplay by Hayao Miyazaki, marking the first feature collaboration between father and son. The English-language version is being produced by Studio Ghibli with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall executive producing.
Set in Yokohama in 1963, the film centers on a high school couple’s innocent love and the secrets surrounding their births. The story takes place in a Japan that is picking itself up from the devastation of World War II and preparing to host the 1964 Olympics – and the mood is one of both optimism and conflict as the new generation struggles to embrace modernity and throw off the shackles of a troubled past. The film’s rich color palette and painterly detail capture the beauty of Yokohama’s harbor and its lush surrounding hillsides, while the 1960’s pop soundtrack evokes nostalgia for an era of innocence and hope.

Ramshakle is the new Emily Osment’s band with Daniel Schechter. Both are from the same college and now they are a band. Emily and Daniel are posting videos of their song on the Ramshackle You Tube Channel, that you must subscribe to check out the news!!
As Emily said, the songs are in a folky style, that is the music Emily had always been dreaming to do.
Check out the sinopse of Kiss Me:
A teenager named Zoe (Sarah Bolger) is forced to use a orthopedic brace to treats your scoliosis while she deals with her mother’s relationship. Zoe works on a house as a baby sister for her best friend’s children (Fischer) and her husband (Corbett).
Ficher is in this movie as Corbett character (still with no named revealed yet) wife and changes her attitude with him when she finds out that he is cheating on her. Rita Wilson in Zoe’s mother, that makes the girl change her mind and looks for affection out of her relationship.
Emily Osment is Shelby, who lives with a secret pain dealing with her alcoholic father.
There’s no date for the movie yet, but it is in the end of the post-production and might comes out in the beginning of 2013.
Today Emily updated her Facebook status! For our surprise posted about her new music project. Check out:
Hope all is well! Lot’s to share about the new music project. I left my label quite some time ago and I am now pursuing that folky sound I have always dreamed of. Of course, when you’re doing it all on your own it takes a bit longer, but I’m still here, we’re still here, and out we go with it now! The dashing fellow you can see pictured all over is my friend Daniel! We write everything just the twosies of us and we’ve been having a grand ole time. We met in college and have been jamming ever since. Hang on for the ride, cos it’ll be a doozy. ♥ Any questions?
Excited for the new project with Daniel?
Emily also replied some fans at the comment. Take a look:
Sangeeth Sivan: You’re next record is gonna be country?
Emily Osment: Hey Sivan. not country, bit of the south of course, but more folk than anything!
Alex Mu: Does this mean no more of the band? Or are you guys still together?
Emily Osment: Hey Alex, the band and I are all still very much in love with each other yes, and as far as booking some gigs in the future for this new sound you might be seeing them up there with me, but for now Dan and I are trying to get our feet wet on our own and ship out some demos
Brent Reddick: I enjoy the new sound and look forward to hearing some of your new work. Any set timeline on recording?
Emily Osment: Hey Brent, shopping around some producers and studios right now, trying to get a move on this before I go back to school in the fall. Yay college! :/
So, still there’s not a date for the new “album”, and even for concerts. Let’s pray for there’s a progress until Emily comes back to the college.
Emily also posted a preview of her and Daniel work. You can see and like her page clicking here.
On Sunday, Emily and Daniel did a photoshoot for the new project. Some pictures were uploaded by Emily on her Facebook and you can check out here:
